End of the Year Giving
At Christmas we celebrate the birth of the most precious of all babies - Jesus - the Messiah. What better time to think on the plight of women who are in crisis due to an unexpected pregnancy? Certainly that was Mary's situation so many seasons ago. An unwed girl confused by a pregnancy, she could not have predicted what would come. In her hour of need an angel came and spoke to her, reassuring her that this was all part of God's plan, that this baby was special, and that Mary was blessed to carry the holy child.Undoubtedly, there is a girl this Christmas preoccupied, not with what gifts will be waiting under her tree, but what to do about the unexpected growth in her belly. At the same time they are presented with opportunities to receive not only the items needed to care for their newborn or toddler, but the tiniest luxuries they might not otherwise afford. Can you picture the light in a child’s eye who received that anticipated present from our Parent Care store; a tractor for that little boy, a doll for that little girl, and a shiny rattle for the baby? Can you see the relief in the eye of a mother who knows she will have food, diapers and a safe bed for her baby to sleep in this Christmas?
