Volunteer Spotlight
A retired OB nurse, Georgia Carmichael has been volunteering with First Choice for Women in Muncie since March 2017. “I like
helping people,” says Georgia. “After retiring, I was looking for someplace to serve. I am pro-life so First Choice for Women was a good fit.”Georgia volunteers as both a ParentCare Mentor and an Ultrasound Nursing Assistant. “We need to be supportive of the young women who need our services and help prepare them for parenting,” stated Georgia.Georgia and her husband of 42 years, Amos, are the parents of two children and five grandchildren. Amos is the pastor of Zion Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union, Elwood Indiana. In her free time, Georgia enjoys reading and spending time with her grandchildren.“This is an important ministry,” Georgia concludes. “I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience as a parent and a nurse with our clients.” Thank you, Georgia, for your commitment to First Choice for Women.
