First Choice for Women of Anderson & Madison County Welcomes New Center Director Alyssa Ritchie
The First Choice for Women, Inc. Board of Directors and staff welcomed their new Center Director, Alyssa Ritchie, to the organization earlier this year. Ritchie succeeds Interim Center Director, Leslie Hatcher. Ritchie will lead the ministry’s efforts in the Anderson and Madison County communities.
Alyssa Ritchie is an Anderson resident who spent the majority of her youth just a few miles outside of the Anderson area, stating that, “Anderson was our big city, it’s where we went to do everything - I love living in this community”! Ritchie has strong ties to the Anderson and Madison County communities and is an active member of Madison Park Church of God in Anderson.
Ritchie has spent more than 6 years of her career working in human services and has developed a solution-oriented and empathetic mindset. In addition to her extensive understanding of the mental, physical, and emotional needs of women and young people, Ritchie is dedicated to the success of the community.“
First Choice for Women of Anderson & Madison County has many opportunities for growth right now, and we need a leader who understands the organization as well as the needs of the community”, stated Lisa Miller, Chief Executive Officer of First Choice for Women, Inc. “Alyssa is the right person to guide First Choice into this new era, while building and nurturing important relationships in Anderson and Madison County.”
Mrs. Ritchie is currently completing an accelerated Bachelor to Masters of Science degree in Youth and Family Administration in Human Services through a Purdue University program, and has completed a plethora of professional development courses, including HIPPA Compliance, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Child Abuse Recognition, Character Education and Wellness Training.
Alyssa is married to Matthew Ritchie of Lapel, Indiana; they have three children (Ansley, Easton, Elexa) and six rescued animals (Carter, Bear, George, Creed, Charlie, Bella).
When asked about joining First Choice for Women of Anderson & Madison County, Ritchie stated, “I am looking forward to serving the women, families and young people in this incredible community! As a passionate advocate for women and children, I hold firm to the belief that when the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful [Malala Yousafzai].” First Choice for Women is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization committed to helping women, families, and young people in Anderson & Madison County, and is solely funded by private donations.
