2014 Ushers in Change

First Choice for Women; one of which is a change in our leadership. On January 2, 2014, we welcomed Lisa Miller to the ministry as the new Executive Director and Brad Oliver as Board President.Executive DirectorLisa joins First Choice for Women with over 14 years of banking experience. Most recently from MutualBank, where she served as the Business Services Officer for East Central Indiana. Through her position at Mutual, Lisa became familiar with First Choice and in 2013 she joined the Board of Directors as Treasurer. Prior to that time Lisa held a leadership role at STAR Financial Bank where she served as Assistant Vice President of Commercial Loan Operations. For nearly a decade Lisa managed the department’s day-to-day operations and personnel. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Anderson University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership with a Management specialty. Lisa and her husband Dewey have three children and two grandchildren and she is a lifelong Muncie resident. Regarding working at First Choice for Women, Miller says, “I am very excited and look forward to playing a more intricate role in this extraordinary organization. I have a passion for the ministry that is difficult to put into words. Having been impacted by the devastating effects of abortion, this position is more than a job…I believe God called me to serve Him in this capacity… to use my story, as well as my skillsets to reach abortion vulnerable women in our community.”Board PresidentBrad brings a plethora of knowledge to First Choice; serving as Dean of the School of Educational Leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University, Vice Chairman at Indiana Right to Life, and as Governor Pence’s appointee to the Sixth Congressional District on the Indiana State Board of Education. His wealth of experience is truly a valuable asset to the ministry. Brad and his wife Angie have three children. When asked about joining First Choice Oliver stated, “It’s a pleasure to serve on the board as we work together to provide faith based crisis pregnancy services to women and families in Muncie and throughout Delaware County.”We are excited about these changes and eagerly look forward to what the rest of the year has in store for us!
