Presidential Perspective
by Brad OliverDear Friends,While our hearts are filled with thanksgiving, the most powerful part of the evening came in listening to the stories of our volunteers, staff, clients; and of course, our speaker Angela Minter. These stories gave testimony of God’s power to bring about transformation when we surrender everything to Him. Angela’s story was particularly moving and inspirational as she depicted her early teenage years, which included having two abortions before God gave her and her boyfriend (now husband, Parnell) the revelation that their actions and decision to pursue abortion had resulted in the destruction of two of their unborn children. Thankfully during Angela’s third pregnancy, she was brought to a place of repentance and revelation that is now manifested in Angela’s leading of a fulltime ministry in Louisville, Kentucky. Angela travels extensively telling her story. Angela’s story is literally saving the lives of countless unborn children. More importantly, Angela is committed to using her story to rescue young mothers (and fathers) for eternity by introducing them to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.Angela’s story is not unlike the stories of women who come to First Choice for Women – women who are scared and uncertain when confronted with an unplanned pregnancy. Fortunately, these women are greeted by well-trained volunteers and staff members who are committed to caring for the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of these women.Make no mistake about it, God’s story is powerfully at work through the ministry of First Choice for Women! What a great story, but do you realize your role in this story? Yes, you are invited to participate in the story of First Choice! As you read the stories included in this newsletter, I want to challenge you to pray for our clients, staff, and ministry volunteers. I want to challenge you to become a monthly donor to this ministry – even if it’s only $10 or $20 a month. I want to challenge you to consider becoming a Life Ambassador to your local church or to a local organization committed to the cause of life. Perhaps, God is calling you to become a volunteer? However God is calling you to use your story, we encourage you to use the commitment form in this month’s newsletter to tell us of your decision.Won’t you join us? Will you help us bring fulfillment to John’s revelation? We believe God has called you to be one of those Saints who will stand before God and triumphantly sing that Satan is defeated, once and for all...through the blood of the Lamb and through the testimony of your word! Your story matters. The victory is already ours!Dr. Brad E. Oliver, Board President
