Ultrasound Update
I'm very excited to report on the progress of the ultrasound project. It seems for months we have been struggling uphill with no real end in sight. However, now I believe we can see the top of that hill with our goal clearly in view. Progress to date includes completion of one of the largest hurdles; compiling a sound policies and procedures manual, which is instrumental to our becoming an approved medical facility. This document is finalized and ready for review by our newly formed medical team, which will be meeting in early April.Additionally, our certificate to be an official laboratory (CLIA waiver) has been submitted to the state, which again, is instrumental in our being approved as a medical facility. We have laid the groundwork with local physicians and medical personnel to partner with us in delivering accurate and specific medical advice as well as ultrasound readings. We are currently working on rather extensive organizational and legal audits. These tedious tasks seem to take a frustratingly long time, but progress is being made at a steady pace.We have recently begun a partnership with NIFLA (National Institute of Family and Life Advocates), who will facilitate the transition in order to ensure that we have fulfilled all of the obligations required to be recognized as a medical facility. In fact, we received a $3,000 grant for The Life Project (TLC) from Focus on the Family to aid with the administrative burden. All of this behind the scenes work is not very exciting, but it is instrumental in laying the groundwork to be the type of medical facility that we are called to be. I'm always humbled and amazed by God's hand when the situation seems to be at a standstill…He always seems to pull through with just the right solution at just the right time. What a blessing it was to hear that the Knights of Columbus has confirmed that they will be providing First Choice for Women with a brand new ultrasound machine! We are truly thankful to the Knights for their dedication to life and their tireless service to the communities in which they are involved.God is making the way and we are so very grateful for His provision. We are also blessed by each of you for your continued support and prayers. By His grace, and through Everyday Heroes like you, we will soon see this dream become a reality. Thank you for partnering with First Choice for Women as we strive to save and change lives in our community.
