Presidential Perspective
by Tod Lail, Chairman of the Board
Dear friends of FCW,
I just finished watching a documentary called “Life is Best”. I would recommend watching the whole series, but let me share what I took away from it. God’s grace is bigger than any sin; God sees an 8-week-old fetus as his image-bearer in the same way as an 8-week-old baby, and getting involved is not option for us if we believe the first two statements.
Regardless of whose sin it is (abortion provider, the woman who had the abortion, or the ones who encouraged the decision) Jesus Christ is greater and wants to forgive and restore. Therefore, as His church, without diminishing what abortion is, we need to be about the business of forgiveness and restoration.
Even among those of us who are pro-life, we can have a tendency to still consider the unborn, somehow, not quite equal to a child who has been born. Combining the science of embryology and the Bible’s teaching, it becomes clear though, that if we believe a behavior is unacceptable when talking about a live baby or toddler, is it not appropriate then, as a Christian, to consider the behavior unacceptable when talking about any human life after conception.
Lastly, once we completely understand that 1.2 million image-bearers of God are being killed each year in America, many times in ways that would make our stomachs turn, we must fight for them. First Choice is doing that, but we need your help. We need volunteers to work with abortion-vulnerable women, to help with a number of
administrative activities, and to serve on the board. We also need financial support to continue operating our medical facility and reach out to women in need.
Thank you to those who are already in this fight with us. If you are uncertain about where to serve, please ask God how He might want you to be involved. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions about how you could engage in this effort with us. May God bless you all.
Looking forward to all God will do,
Todd Lail, Chairman
Board of Directors
