2016 Walk for Life:30 Years of Hope

by Lisa Miller, CEO

We may not have had perfect weather, but we certainly had a perfect day! What a blessing it was to see nearly 150 men women and children come out to support First Choice for Women’s 30th Annual Walk for Life on a rainy spring day! The building was filled with the smiling painted faces of balloon-toting tots, excited to be a part of this fun family event! How wonderful it was to watch these precious little ones enjoying the morning, and what an excellent reminder of the importance of the work being done at First Choice every day.

pic1As we tallied the over $22,000 in gifts from our hallmark event, we were simply overwhelmed by the generosity of the walkers, donors and sponsors who made this fundraiser such a huge success!

In addition, 95% of registration and nearly 85% of individually raised funds were completed online through the FundEasy personal webpage process, (up 15% from last year) enabling us to reduce administrative time and expense for the second year in a row! We hope everyone who chose this option enjoyed the fun and easy to use application, and are pleased to announce that it will be available again in 2017!

We Thank You!

First Choice is very grateful to everyone who made this event possible, and would like to give special thanks to Westminster Presbyterian for allowing us to use their beautiful facilities; IHOP for providing breakfast; the Ball State Police Department for escorting us across the busy street; and the many volunteers, sponsors, door prize donors and walkers who made our 30th Annual Walk for Life fun for everyone!

It is because of partners like you, who give your time, talents and financial resources, that First Choice for Women has been able to provide hope to the many families who come to us in need. For the past 30 years we have been privileged to love and support these women, men, and children through the grace of God. Thank you for ensuring that the doors of First Choice remain open to families in crisis!
