Hugs & Mugs

k-hinesby Kathy HindsDuring the bitter cold and relentless snow of this winter, seeds of faith were being sown in our Hugs & Mugs Bible Study—seeds that found warm hearts and fertile soil for producing abundant fruit! In January we began daily devotionals from Jesus Calling (Sarah Young), and we started a new Bible Study, called Namesake—When God Rewrites Your Story, by Jessica LaGrone. Through weekly video sessions and daily lessons on Biblical characters such as Abraham and Sarah, Jacob, Naomi, Daniel, and Peter, we are learning about God’s transformational power and His desire to be intimately involved in our stories—to help us become who He created us to be.Our group continues to grow, and we love studying God’s Word together and praying for each other, but we also enjoy our fellowship time; like our “crafting” parties and monthly luncheons. In February we had a wonderful time making sweet cards and treats at our Valentine’s crafting/pizza party. Our DVD library, which has a nice selection of family and children’s videos, continues to grow and recently expanded to include a few books (thanks to a couple of suggestions made on our Facebook page). As always we are looking for volunteers to help with childcare during our Bible Study meetings on Mondays, from 9:30am-11:30am. Thank you, Pattie Heban, for your loving kindness and generous help in this area—and for your patience and perseverance!Confident that “…He who began a good work in [us] will carry it on to completion….” (Phillip. 1:6)Love and hugs,Kathy Hinds
